The search continues! We were oh-so-close to signing a lease in the charming north Georgetown! Picture this: a quaint little space that, while cozy, was bursting with potential. It even had a delightful outdoor space—perfect for our future afterschool club shenanigans! 🌟 Sure, it wasn’t flawless and needed a sprinkle of TLC, but I could totally envision our creative studio coming to life there. But alas, in a plot twist worthy of a soap opera, the current tenants decided to extend their lease. Yay for them, but big bummer for me! It’s like watching your favorite dessert get snatched away right before you take a bite. I keep telling myself that what’s meant to be will be (blah, blah, LOL). Just gotta channel my inner zen and practice a little patience! 🧘‍♀️ This week, our fabulous guides are conjuring up some magical experiences in art class! 🎨✨ From Picasso's mesmerizing Blue Period Guitars to Kandinsky's whimsical Concentric Circles, and so much more! The kids are having a blast with their creative guides, and let me tell you, when I occasionally step in to sub, I get to hear the sweetest stories! The connections the children make with their guides are truly heartwarming. Well, that's a wrap for now! I’m crossing my fingers for some exciting news about the studio space in the next post. I can't wait to start planning summer camps and classes in our very own space!

  • Hello from Scribbles!

Welcome to the Scribbles for Littles blog! This is my very first post, so please forgive me if it's not the most exciting blog post you've ever read. I'm hoping to improve as I go along. Fingers crossed! This week we are continuing our winter projects; however, it does seem a little off since it's been in the 70s and even reaching the 80s these days. February is typically pretty cold here in Central Texas this time of year, so I thought I had it all planned out pretty well. It is technically winter after all. Some of the projects you will see rotating between our wonderful partner schools are Snowman Sculptures, Northern Lights, and Snowy Owls. You can check out our Instagram stories to get a peek at what these projects look like. Our amazing teachers (aka Creative Guides) do an outstanding job making art class special for each child. Scribbles for Littles wouldn't be the program it is today without Ms. Raquel, Ms. Annie, Ms. Katy, and Ms. Kirstyn. These creative guides are truly remarkable. You'll hear more about them as we blog more. As some of you know, we've been teaching our classes on-site at local schools as an extracurricular program for the past 13 years (I can't believe it's been that long!). Back in 2015, I started my search to open a studio of our very own. I never found a space that fit my vision and ended my search early. Honestly, it was a good thing since 5 years later the pandemic hit and I highly doubt I would have been able to survive that with a storefront. I'm extremely thankful I even made it back to classes at the school after that wild time. That's a crazy story for another time (I'm sure we all have crazy stories from 2020). Well, back to what I'm trying to get at... I'm hoping this is the year we will find the right studio space for Scribbles. Only 10 years later! Good things come to those who wait, am I right? I sure hope so. If you've made it this far, thank you for sticking through my first blog post. I promise they will get better! In the meantime, please send out that good juju to help us find the perfect space for a Scribbles for Littles landing spot. We'd really appreciate it! Hope you check out our next blog!
